Who we are

Dublin Gym Guide is responsible for the personal data described here. Contact us at admin@dublingymguide.ie.

What we collect and why

You can browse the directory without giving us any personal information.

• Newsletter: your email, optional first name, and a record of when you agreed and the exact wording you agreed to. We use it only to send Dublin Gym Guide emails. We never sell it or share it with gyms. Legal basis: your consent.
• Gym enquiries: your name, email, optional phone and message, and a record of your agreement to share them. We pass these only to the gym you named, so they can reply. Making an enquiry does not sign you up to the newsletter. Legal basis: your consent.
• Gym suggestions: the details you submit, including your email if you give it, so we can review the suggestion.
• Analytics (only if you accept): pages and gym profiles viewed, searches and filters used, and clicks on gym websites, phone numbers, emails and directions, linked to a random ID stored in your browser. We don't record your name, email or IP address with these. Reports we share with gyms contain totals only.

How long we keep it

• Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe, then removed or anonymised.
• Gym enquiries: up to 12 months after the enquiry is closed.
• Analytics events: up to 24 months, after which only totals are kept.

Cookies and browser storage

We don't use advertising cookies. We use your browser's local storage for:

• remembering which gyms you've selected to compare (essential);
• remembering your analytics choice (essential);
• keeping administrators signed in (essential);
• an anonymous visitor ID for analytics – only if you accept. Choosing "No thanks" removes it.

Unsubscribing and withdrawing consent

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email admin@dublingymguide.ie to unsubscribe, withdraw consent for an enquiry we haven't yet passed on, or turn analytics off using cookie settings.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you by emailing admin@dublingymguide.ie. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
